Building Guelph’s Future — One Robot at a Time

Technology is shaping tomorrow — let’s prepare Guelph's youth today.

Why Robotics, Why Now?

The "future" of technology already impacts our lives. And this is just the beginning. AI and automation are rapidly reshaping jobs and industries.

Robotics: prevalent in automotive & general manufacturing, warehouse logistics, precision telemetry medical and dangerous exploratory applications such as mining. Routinely improving operations for mundane maintenance like cleaning - all sectors are only growing with demand.

In Guelph, an agricultural innovation hub, we have smart farm systems and advanced manufacturing.

These are approaches Guelph must master.

We believe that the youth of today need to be tomorrow's leaders.

Guelph’s Opportunity & Challenge

Local Industry Evolution

Advanced manufacturing, clean tech, and agri-innovation are turning to robotics.

Economic Pressure

Economic uncertainty is real — but good leaders ensure that technology adoptions accelerate during downturns to retain competitiveness.

Widening Equity Gaps

So, will only some kids be ready?

What happens to a city where only some of society prospers?

Hands-On. Inclusive.
Future-Focused.

What better, than to teach local kids to be the leaders of tomorrow?

We give youth in Guelph the opportunity to get hands-on access to tools for the jobs of the future, while competing and having fun.  In Guelph, we’re home to a world-class team: Beaverworx 2609, which triumphed over 80,000 students worldwide to win the 2023 FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas.

We’re not just a club, we're not only a team, we are a grassroots youth STEM organization - providing world-class programming to youth in Guelph through robotics teams in every school. Our goals: Inspire youth to pursue STEM. Build competitive robots. Have fun. What does inspiring youth to pursue STEM look like? Teaching kids robotics, coding, and AI concepts through hands-on projects. Building confidence, resilience, and teamwork alongside technical skills. Connecting kids with local companies for mentorship and real-world problem solving. Ensuring scholarships and access so no child is left behind.
