As we head into the 2026 FRC season, Team 2609 is taking a moment to reflect on a busy and rewarding preseason. From welcoming new members and building technical skills to competing at STEMley, running a mock kickoff, and preparing outreach projects, this fall laid a strong foundation for what lies ahead. With confidence, collaboration, and momentum on our side, Beaverworx is rebuilt and ready for the season to come.

What a day for robotics, sustainability, and community! Thank you to everyone who joined us and the Guelph Tool Library (GTL, https://guelphtoollibrary.org/ ) for their Computer Security Day this past Saturday. With about 150 visitors, GTL collected 75+ e-waste items, repaired 10 laptops, and set aside another 10 for reuse—amazing teamwork for a greener Guelph! On Nov 29, three new FIRST LEGO League teams from Guelph—73245 The Hollow Knights (King George, UGDSB), 74060 The Pixel Knights (King George, UGDSB), and 74221 St. Peter Robotics (St. Peter, WCDSB)—took on their first tournament at the University of Waterloo. The second month of preseason has been nothing short of inspiring for Team 2609. From competition prep and strategic workshops to hands-on skill development and outreach planning, November pushed our team to grow in confidence, creativity, and capability.

Over the past four weeks, Team 2609: Beaverworx has been hard at work welcoming new members, building new skills, and preparing for our first off-season event — the STEMley Cup.

We are excited to welcome new members to our FIRST Robotics team FRC-2609 Beaverworx. Grade 9-12 students from Our Lady of Lourdes, St. James, St. John Bosco, and Bishop Macdonell Catholic High Schools are invited to participate in this award-winning program. No experience is needed – whether you are starting out fresh or building on existing skills, this is your chance to learn, grow, and compete in robotics!
